Argentine man found dead, hanging from Phuket hotel balcony

A foreign man was found dead, hanging naked from a balcony in a chilling discovery that has rocked a hotel in Phuket.

The 77 year old Argentine man was found naked, with no trousers, and appeared to have taken his own life. The eerie circumstances of the case have left investigators puzzled, especially after CCTV footage revealed no one else was with the deceased, and there were no signs of a struggle.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Nucharee Longkaew, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation at Phuket City Police Station, received a report about the death of a foreign man at a hotel in Phuket.

Rushing to the scene with Pol. Col. Chatri Chukaew, the Superintendent of Phuket City Police, forensic doctors from Vachira Phuket Hospital, and officers from the Kusontham Phuket Foundation, arrived to find a haunting scene outside the hotel room’s balcony.

The man’s body was discovered hanging, wearing only a grey short-sleeved shirt and no pants, with a rope tied around his neck. The balcony chairs were arranged in a way that suggested the deceased had been staying on the 5th floor of the hotel, where the incident occurred.

Suspected suicide

Upon examination, the forensic doctor found a wound on the man’s left wrist, likely caused by self-harm. This, combined with the circumstances of the death, pointed to suicide.

There was no sign of a struggle and no damage to the hotel room was noted. Investigators scoured CCTV footage from yesterday, March 24, which revealed that no one had been with the dead foreigner, raising even more questions about the man’s final hours.

The body was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a detailed autopsy, with the police coordinating with the Argentine Embassy to contact the man’s relatives. They also arranged for the body to be released for religious ceremonies following the family’s wishes, reported KhaoSod.

The Argentine man’s death has left the hotel staff and guests unnerved, with many believing that the place is haunted by the tragic incident.

As the investigation continues, police are working to uncover more details about the man’s background and why he ended his life in such an unusual and unsettling manner.
