Tragic Pattaya incident: Daughter finds mother drowned in basin
A tragic incident unfolded yesterday when an 18 year old girl returned home from work to find her mother dead, face down in a washing basin. Despite immediate efforts to save her, the mother could not be revived, leaving the family heartbroken.
The distressing event occurred late at night when the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Radio Centre in Pattaya was informed of a drowning incident at an unnamed apartment located in Soi Kluay Thot, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri. Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene following the report.
In the apartment room two, they discovered 49 year old Nawaporn, lying on the bathroom floor with her face submerged in a washing basin. Rescue personnel promptly initiated CPR and transported her to Pattaya City Hospital for further treatment.
”I last spoke to my mother at 2pm yesterday, December 3,” recounted the teenage daughter, referred to as Bee, who was visibly shaken. She discovered her mother’s lifeless body upon returning home at 10.30pm.
“When I arrived and found her missing from the main room, I checked the bathroom and saw her collapsed with her face in the water-filled basin. I quickly gathered myself and shouted for nearby neighbours to help, while also calling the rescue team.”
Further inquiries revealed that Nawaporn suffered from a chronic condition, specifically high blood pressure, for which she reportedly never took medication. This existing health issue is believed to have been a contributing factor to the unfortunate incident.
Police officers conducted a preliminary investigation, collecting evidence and documenting the scene for further examination. Initial assessments suggest that the chronic health condition may have caused Nawaporn to become dizzy and fall, resulting in her drowning in the basin, reported KhaoSod.
Later, Bang Lamung Hospital confirmed that Nawaporn was pronounced dead after ongoing efforts to revive her proved unsuccessful.
