A serious accident involving a motorcycle sidecar and a car near Pattaya left a 54 year old woman critically injured.
The Sawaeng Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center was alerted to an accident on Huay Yai Road yesterday, December 18 at 6.16am. Rescue workers, in coordination with Huay Yai police, quickly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered a white Honda Jazz sedan that had collided with a house. The driver, 23 year old Minthada, was present and unhurt, waiting to provide his account to the police. The car was found in a damaged state, having lost control after the collision.
Nearby, a blue-black Honda Wave 100 motorcycle with a sidecar was heavily damaged, with the sidecar separated from the main vehicle due to the impact. Debris from the accident was scattered across the road. Rescue workers found 54 year old Thatsanee lying critically injured and barely breathing on the street. They promptly administered first aid before rushing her to Yan Sang Wararam Hospital.
Minthada explained to the police that he had just dropped off his girlfriend at work and was returning home when the accident occurred. He stated that the collision with the sidecar caused him to lose control of his vehicle, leading to the crash into the house. He immediately sought assistance from the police following the incident.
The family of the victim, who arrived at the scene later, expressed their shock and concern. They mentioned that Thatsanee was usually out in the mornings to buy food for offering alms, a routine activity for her.
Police have detained Minthada for an alcohol breath test and are investigating the precise cause of the accident. They aim to piece together the sequence of events that led to the unfortunate accident, reported The Pattaya News.
