Teen stabbed in Pattaya over motorcycle exhaust dispute

A teenager in Pattaya sustained a severe head injury after a knife attack linked to a dispute over a loud motorcycle exhaust.

The incident occurred at 1.06am yesterday, March 14, with the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre receiving the report of an assault in Soi Wat Boon Samphan. Coordination between Nong Prue Police Station officers and rescue volunteers was swiftly arranged to address the situation.

Upon arriving at the scene, the team found 15 year old Jeng (nickname) with a significant head wound from a suspected knife attack. His body was covered in blood, and he was surrounded by concerned friends. Rescue workers administered first aid before transporting him to a hospital for further treatment. The suspects responsible for the attack had already fled the area before police arrived.

Jeng recounted that the altercation began as he and his friends were riding motorcycles to purchase snacks. The loud exhaust from one of the bikes provoked another group of teenagers to hurl insults. In response, one of Jeng’s friends retaliated with offensive remarks. On their return journey, they encountered three people from the antagonistic group waiting for them. These individuals pursued and attacked Jeng’s group with knives, causing Jeng to lose control of his motorcycle and fall. It was then that he was struck in the head with a weapon, reported The Pattaya News.

The 29 year old victim suffered a 5-centimetre cut on his jaw and multiple bruises. He stumbled into a barbecue restaurant in Bangpu Mai, asking staff to call the police.

The victim told police that the 28 year old suspect broke into his room while he was sleeping with his 44 year old wife, attacked him, and tried to take her away.
