Love triangle leads to knife attack in Samut Prakan rented room

A messy love triangle driven by jealousy led to a knife attack yesterday in a rented room in Samut Prakan province near Bangkok. The suspect also boasted about his past crimes involving drugs and attempted murder after being arrested.
A worker at a barbecue restaurant in the Bangpu Mai sub-district, Mueang district, Samut Prakan, called Ruam Katanyu Foundation rescuers, yesterday, March 2, to assist the injured man, 29 year old Phuwadon. The man had a 5-centimetre-long cut on his jaw, along with wounds and bruises across his body.
The worker, 18 year old New Year, later told Channel 3 that Phuwadon arrived at the restaurant on his motorcycle, a black Yamaha Air Blade, at closing time, asked him to call the police, and showed him the wound. He then called both the police and rescuers to the scene.
Phuwadon later told police that he had been sleeping with his wife, 44 year old Wilacha, in their rented room when the attacker, 28 year old Kittipong, broke in. Phuwadon said Kittipong immediately attacked him and attempted to take his wife away.
Wilacha bashfully admitted that Kittipong was her lover. She already informed him that she would be staying with Phuwadon for a few days but Kittipong was still jealous.

Shared love
Wilacha explained that she had been in a relationship with Phuwadon for over two years and only began another relationship with Kittipong a month ago. The two men lived near each other. Wilacha did not clarify whether Phuwadon consented to their polygamous relationship or not.
Kittipong gave his side of the story, saying that Wilacha came to him for help a month ago because she was being abused by Phuwadon. She begged him to take her away, so he let her stay in his room. They then began a romantic relationship.

Kittipong said Wilacha asked to meet Phuwadon for a few days, and he agreed. However, Phuwadon angered him by sending a message stating that he would never let Wilacha see him again.
Kittipong then decided to go to Phuwadon’s room with a knife. He added that he had nothing to lose as he had been arrested multiple times before for drug offences and also attempted murder.
The legal punishment Kittipong will face in this case has not been revealed. However, based on a similar previous case, he may be charged under Section 295 of the Criminal Law for physically assaulting another person and causing mental or physical injury. The penalty is up to two years’ imprisonment, a fine of up to 40,000 baht, or both.
