Tense drama unfolded in Pattaya on Tuesday as police were alerted to a young woman’s suicide attempt after she tried to leap from a five-storey building near the bustling Walking Street.

Responding with urgency, the Pattaya police, along with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation’s rescue teams and emergency services, raced to the scene on Tuesday, January 7, swiftly inflating an air cushion beneath the potential fall zone of the troubled woman, Waraporn.

Waraporn stood on the precipice of the fifth floor, while her desperate boyfriend, police officers, and rescue workers coaxed and cajoled her for a tense 30 minutes.

Heroically, her boyfriend seized a fortuitous moment, managing to clasp her arm and pull her back from the brink of disaster. With swift coordination, the rescue team escorted her to safety, averting what could have been a catastrophic tragedy.

The Pattaya Mail reported that her deeply concerned sister, Sirirat, shared insights into Waraporn’s troubles, disclosing her ongoing battle with depression.

The day before the suicide attempt, Waraporn had consumed a troubling amount of sedative pills, prompting her sister to hide the remainder in fear of further harm. Despite no arguments with her boyfriend that day, Sirirat highlighted the nuanced emotional care required for someone grappling with depression.
