Pedestrian killed in Pattaya traffic accident

A pedestrian lost his life in a road accident in Pattaya after being struck by a car during heavy traffic. The tragic incident occurred at 7.30pm yesterday, August 7, in front of the Agricultural Technology Promotion Centre for Plant Protection, Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. Rescue personnel and police officers promptly arrived at the scene following the report.

Police found the body of the deceased, identified as 49 year old Res Sornkln. Nearby, a black Mitsubishi Lancer with noticeable front-end damage was discovered. The driver of the vehicle, 32 year old Nitthas Kaewkong, was present and cooperated with the police by providing a statement.

Nitthas explained that he was driving from South Pattaya Road towards Sattahip when the accident occurred. Due to heavy traffic, he did not notice the pedestrian crossing the road in time, leading to the unfortunate collision.

“I was caught in heavy traffic and didn’t see the pedestrian crossing the road in time.”

The body of the deceased was transported to Bang Lamung Hospital while efforts were made to contact the victim’s family. Meanwhile, Nitthas was taken to the Dongtan Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, a big bike collided with a barrier on Khlong Chonprathan Road but the driver remains missing. Only a shoe was found at the scene, and rescue teams have not located the driver despite extensive searches. Chiang Mai Provincial Police Headquarters (191) received a report of an accident involving a big bike that had crashed into a roadside barrier on Khlong Chonprathan Road, near the Mae Hia Agricultural Research Station in Mueang Chiang Mai.

In other news, a tuk tuk driver lost consciousness at the wheel, causing his vehicle to swerve off the road and collide with a taxi. Emergency responders quickly administered CPR after detecting a weak pulse and then transported him to the hospital for further treatment.
