Pattaya’s vibrant charm was on full display as thousands of tourists packed Jomtien Beach for the final day of the Pattaya Squid Fair 2025, themed Pirates’ Treasure Under The Sea. Held on March 1 in front of The Now Hotel, the festival transformed the coastline into a seafood paradise, drawing visitors eager to indulge in the city’s famed beachside dining.

The event featured over 50 seafood stalls, offering fresh catches at unbeatable prices, allowing guests to savour an authentic Local Beach Food Experience.

Tourists from around the world soaked in the lively yet laid-back ambience, enjoying freshly grilled squid, prawns, and other seafood delicacies while taking in the picturesque coastal views. Many international visitors praised the event, with some vowing to return to Pattaya’s thriving food and festival scene.

Beyond the mouthwatering seafood, the festival delivered high-energy entertainment, including live music performances, a squid fishing competition hosted by Jack’s Way, and an exciting Lucky Draw Treasure giveaway.

The highlight of the evening came when Thai music sensation Rit Samila took the stage, electrifying the crowd and enhancing the already festive atmosphere.

However, the event’s overwhelming success came at a price, massive traffic congestion.

The combination of the Pattaya Squid Fair and the Pattaya International Kite Festival led to gridlock on major roads, including North Pattaya Road, Central Pattaya Road, South Pattaya Road, Sukhumvit Road, and Beach Road.

Traffic crawled at a snail’s pace from the afternoon until late evening as thousands of festivalgoers flooded the city.

Despite the traffic woes, local businesses welcomed the influx of visitors. The Pattaya Business and Tourism Association (PBTA) expects events like these to significantly boost tourism and local revenue, aligning with the government’s push for eco-friendly and sustainable tourism in Chon Buri.

The surge in tourist spending is also expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth across the region, reported Pattaya Mail.
