Drunken fight on Pattaya Beach Road leaves two injured

Chaos erupted along Pattaya Beach Road when a drunken domestic dispute spiralled into a full-blown physical fight, drawing police and rescue crews to the scene.
The altercation, which occurred at 8.06pm on Wednesday, April 9, near North Pattaya, left a 49 year old man and a 42 year old woman injured and incoherent after reportedly drinking excessive amounts of white spirit.
Officers from Pattaya Police Station and rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation responded swiftly to emergency calls from concerned bystanders who witnessed the commotion.
Upon arrival, police found the couple, identified as 49 year old Suthon and 42 year old Rungnapha, shouting and scuffling with each other as stunned tourists watched.
Both appeared visibly intoxicated and were struggling to speak clearly. Their erratic behaviour and refusal to calm down made the scene all the more dramatic.
The pair told police that the row erupted after they had been drinking together, with emotions running high and tempers flaring.
What started as a verbal spat quickly turned violent, leaving both with facial injuries and bruises on their bodies. Rescue workers on-site administered immediate first aid.
A witness recounted the scene, saying the two were hurling insults at each other before the woman allegedly began choking and hitting the man, reported The Pattaya News.
While the exact cause of the altercation remains murky, alcohol was a major factor in the flare-up.
Tourists nearby were reportedly rattled by the incident, which unfolded in a popular beach area typically known for its nightlife and laid-back atmosphere.
Police continue their investigation into the fight, although no charges have been announced. Officers reminded the public to drink responsibly and refrain from disruptive behaviour in public spaces.
