The Tourist Police Bureau, in partnership with CP All Public Company Limited, is rolling out a new initiative to boost tourist safety with the help of 7-Eleven convenience stores.

This project will establish incident reporting points in 7-Eleven convenience stores across 20 major tourist hotspots in the country. This move is part of a broader strategy to promote Thailand’s tourism image and reassure foreign tourists, following the government’s decision to reopen its borders.

The project’s core involves training volunteers from the Strong Tourism Community, security guards, and 7-Eleven employees. These trained individuals will be stationed in participating 7-Eleven branches, ready to provide information, support, and coordination with the Tourist Police when necessary, they said.

“7-Eleven stores, with their easy accessibility and round-the-clock operation, serve as ideal reporting points for any incident involving tourists.

“Through this project, we aim to ensure prompt assistance for tourists, promoting a sense of safety and fostering a positive image of Thailand’s tourism.”

This collaboration between the public sector, the private sector, and local communities is a testament to the collective efforts to enhance safety measures. By providing readily available help and information, the project is expected to increase tourists’ confidence in their safety during their stay.

The launch of the reporting points in 7-Eleven stores is aligned with the state’s policy to bolster Thailand’s tourism industry. It is also seen as a step towards generating income for the country, especially in the post-pandemic economy, reported Pattaya News.

The Tourist Police Bureau and CP All Public Company Limited have expressed optimism that this initiative will significantly contribute to the tourism landscape in Thailand. It’s a careful and considered strategy designed to ensure both the safety and satisfaction of visitors to the kingdom, ultimately strengthening Thailand’s position as a top tourist destination.
