Students expose teacher for upskirt filming and lewd behaviour

Students in Phetchabun accused their school of attempting to cover up allegations that a male teacher secretly filmed under the skirts of schoolgirls and a female teacher.

Victims shared their accounts with the Facebook page, ข่าวท้องถิ่นเพชรบูรณ์, saying they no longer wanted the alleged behaviour kept quiet and feared the teacher would not be held accountable.

According to the students, the teacher had allegedly displayed inappropriate behaviour in classrooms. They claimed he smoked cigarettes during lessons, exposed his penis in class, used sexually explicit language with students and filmed under the skirts of both students and a female teacher.

The students said they reported the matter to the school’s executive director, but claimed senior staff ignored the complaint and asked them not to make the allegations public.

Local news outlets reported that the alleged victims include 10 students aged 14 to 17 and one female teacher.

Students and the public called on the school to investigate and to make the outcome and any disciplinary action transparent. Some also urged relevant agencies to seize the teacher’s mobile phone for examination of any alleged explicit photos or videos.

As the story circulated widely online, neither the school nor the accused teacher had issued a statement. The Ministry of Education and the provincial education office had also not announced any action on the case.

The allegations come amid other recent school abuse cases reported in Thailand. In Udon Thani in February, a male teacher was accused of sexually abusing four schoolboys at a welfare accommodation. He reportedly admitted the offences during questioning and attempted to offer compensation to avoid legal punishment.

In September last year, an art teacher was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10 year old schoolgirl in Sa Kaeo. The report said the victim was left in critical condition and received hospital treatment for more than a month.
