Chiang Rai, located in the northern part of Thailand, is not new to seismic activities. However, the low magnitude of these recent events indicates that they were relatively minor. Despite the close timing and proximity of the two earthquakes, there were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.

The local government officials and the Earthquake Surveillance Division continue to monitor the situation closely. Historically, the region has experienced more significant seismic activities but the recent quakes serve as a reminder of the area’s geological volatility.

Residents of Chiang Rai province have been advised to stay alert but not alarmed, as the magnitude of these quakes is considered low. Precautionary measures are always recommended in such scenarios. Local government officials are also ensuring that all necessary protocols are in place should there be any aftershocks or subsequent seismic activities.

“We felt a slight shake but nothing alarming. The authorities have been very prompt with their updates.”

While today’s events have not caused any significant concern, they highlight the importance of earthquake preparedness in the region. Building structures in earthquake-prone areas are often designed to withstand such minor tremors, ensuring the safety of residents, reported KhaoSod.
