Ploenchit Durian Orchard, situated in Ban Khlong Sai, Wang Nam Khiao, Nakhon Ratchasima, the owner, Satit Tritarak, revealed the orchard cultivates over 40 varieties of mixed durians.

With 360 trees sprawling across 12 rai, the more commonly known varieties include Monthong, Chanee, Puangmanee, Musang King, Kob Chai Nam, Kob Suwan, Long Laplae, and Ochee Nam Dam.

The orchard also grows various durian families, such as the long-stemmed varieties Kan Yao Si Nak, Kan Yao Wat Sak, and Kan Yao Song Huad. The Kob family includes Kob Mae Thao, Kob Ta Kham, Kob Pikoon, Kob Sao Noi, Kob Leb Yiew, Kob Thong Kham Kom Bang, and Kob Thong Kham Nonthaburi.

To ensure the health of each durian variety, the owner gathered knowledge from YouTube experts focusing on soil enrichment for durian trees. The orchard uses fermented animal manure and gypsum to condition the soil, with secondary and supplementary nutrients provided twice a year. This year’s harvest is expected to begin at the end of June and finish at the end of August.

The orchard commits to harvesting only ripe durians, ensuring customers will not encounter any unripe fruit issues. This year, the focus will be on selling durians directly at the durian festival rather than online.

Ploenchit Durian Orchard has established a new store offering durians and sweets. Visitors can sample various durian varieties and enjoy a selection of meticulously crafted sweets made from quality ingredients.

Dessert stores will have their soft openings tomorrow, with the grand opening on July 5. Those who love durians, sweets, and ice cream or tourists visiting the Khao Phang Ma wildlife observation point can stop by the orchard to take photos with the durians reported Khaosod.
