As the December lottery draw approaches, keen-eyed Thai punters are turning to various sources for lucky numbers. Notable figures, personalised car number plates, and even ancient termites are all being scrutinised for potential winning digits.

The first unusual source of lottery luck comes from a local shrine dedicated to two elderly women, where villagers have written numbers 70, 558, 625, and 97 on red cloth. A palpable sense of excitement fills the air as hopefuls snap pictures of these numbers, hoping to strike it rich tomorrow, December 1.

The next source is a black Volkswagen van with the number plate NOK 9999, used by a wealthy businessman in Chiang Mai. Similarly, a centuries-old termite mound has provided the three digits 602, which residents are eagerly noting down for the upcoming draw.

A mysterious figure known only as The Egg has also provided punters with a series of numbers. Although the numbers were unclear, different people saw the digits 950,056, 16, and 19.

A similar situation occurred during the Loy Krathong Festival, with some people seeing the number 33 in the candle wax, while others saw 313. Meanwhile, beauty queen Anntonia Porsild‘s car registration number, NGL 12, and her height of 174 centimetres have added to the pool of potential lottery numbers.

The Chinese calendar has also been used to generate lottery numbers, with one TikTok user sharing the numbers 952,9654,4011,624,059,697. In a similar vein, the car registration number 1908, belonging to a popular celebrity known as Bum Bum, is also being considered as a potential lucky number.

Another source of potential winning numbers is the historic city of Nakhon Ratchasima, which is celebrating its 555-year anniversary. The age of the city’s founder, Thao Suranari (81 years old), and her monument’s height (1.85 metres) and weight (325 kilogrammes) have all contributed to the pool of potential lottery numbers.

Finally, the numbers derived from the annual Kathin ceremony at various temples have also been added to the mix, with the donation amounts providing a wealth of potential winning digits.

As the lottery draw approaches, the anticipation continues to build, with hopeful punters across Thailand hoping that their chosen numbers will bring them good fortune on December 1.
