An unidentified man was arrested last night in the vicinity of an old house in the Bang Rak district by Bangkok police following reports of a disturbance. The man, who was causing a commotion and brandishing an axe, was taken into custody without incident. Despite the unsettling scene, no illegal items were found on the man’s person.

On December 3, around 10.45pm, Bang Rak police were alerted to a disturbance near an architectural relic from the reign of King Rama V, which also houses the Bang Rak Post Office. The report described a man unknown to the police as causing a commotion and brandishing an axe.

Arriving at the scene, the police observed the man in question, of unknown nationality, causing a disturbance and holding an axe in his right hand.

Acting swiftly, the police arrested the man and seized the axe as evidence. After identifying themselves as law enforcement officers, the police searched for the man, with his consent. The search turned up no illegal items.

Upon questioning, the man admitted to carrying the axe in public and causing the disturbance. He was duly informed of his charges and his legal rights.

Following his arrest, the man was taken to Bang Rak Police Station, where a formal record of the arrest was made and the case was handed over to investigating officers for further legal proceedings.

While this incident did not result in any harm or property damage, it serves as a reminder that public disturbances can occur anywhere, even in historical districts. Law enforcement officers must be vigilant and prepared to respond to such situations to ensure public safety, reported by KhaoSod.
