Khlong Toei shooting claims lives of student and teacher

A tragic event unfolded in the Khlong Toei district as two unidentified assailants opened fire on the roadside, ultimately leading to the death of a 19 year old student from Uthen Thawai Campus, Rajamangala University of Technology, known as Nong Yod. After an eight-day fight for life following the fatal Khlong Toei shooting, his mother confirmed his passing today.

The previous night saw the heartbreaking Khlong Toei shooting occur. According to the alumni group from Uthen Thawai, Nong Yod, whose real name is Thanasorn, was ambushed by two criminals.

Despite the efforts of medical staff, the young student succumbed to his injuries eight days later and his body was scheduled for collection around noon today from the forensic department at Chulalongkorn Hospital. The family planned to hold religious ceremonies for five days before the cremation.

His mother, Pornpimon, confirmed that her son passed away at 8pm yesterday. She had been at the hospital all day, monitoring his condition which had worsened due to a blood infection. Doctors had previously alerted her to the severity of his condition, preparing her for the worst.

Thanasorn was not the only victim of this horrifying incident. The bullets also hit and killed 45 year old Sirada Sinprasert, a computer science teacher at Prarote Pattaya Convent School. She was walking to an ATM when the incident occurred. As the investigation continues, it is believed that there might be a group involved in planning the crime, with the suspected shooter having fled the capital, reported KhaoSod.

A shooting incident at a recently inaugurated barbecue pork restaurant in Sing Buri resulted in one fatality and three injuries, sending shockwaves through the city.

Sing Buri homicide investigator Jitti Pankhlip, accompanied by forensic experts and officials from Sing Buri Po Tek Tung Foundation, promptly arrived at the scene, discovering 26 shell casings of different sizes scattered around the restaurant. Read more HERE.
