Thailand braces for heavy rain and flash floods in 42 provinces
Monsoon trough and Typhoon Bualoi drive intense rainfall

Today, September 29, the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a weather warning for 42 provinces across Thailand, highlighting the risk of heavy rain and potential flash floods and landslides. Bangkok and its surrounding areas are also included in this alert, with the possibility of strong waves in the sea.
The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates severe rainfall in various regions, particularly in the northeastern and eastern provinces.
The intense monsoon trough currently affects the lower northern, upper central, and northeastern regions, combined with a strong southwestern monsoon across the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Additionally, Typhoon Bualoi has made landfall in Quang Binh, northern Vietnam, and has weakened into a strong tropical storm. It is moving into northern Laos and is expected to further weaken into a depression and a strong low-pressure area subsequently.
