A 22 year old military officer from the Royal Thai Armed Forces, identified as Ekkarat Suea-am, was fatally shot after a high-speed pursuit involving an aggressive pickup truck driver in Prachin Buri province. The incident, which unfolded over a distance of 10 kilometres, occurred at around 9pm yesterday.

Ekkarat, who was driving his girlfriend from Saraburi to Sa Kaeo, was reportedly chased down and shot by the pickup driver after honking his horn as a warning while attempting to overtake the vehicle.

Upon reaching the scene, police found an Isuzu pickup truck crashed into a grassy verge with significant damage to its left side. Ekkarat, originally from Chabmakrut, Klonghad in Sa Kaeo, was found with a critical gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Despite swift action by rescue services, his life could not be saved due to a bullet puncturing his lung.

His 25 year old girlfriend, who was in a state of shock, managed to recount the horrifying ordeal to the authorities. According to her, the pickup truck, a Toyota with an unmemorable registration number, had been tailgating them closely on the road.
