Thai man apologises after woman filmed sitting on his lap on motorcycle trip
Motorist claims that encounter with rivals left them with no choice but to squeeze together

A viral video captured four people travelling dangerously on a motorcycle along a road in Nakhon Sawan province. One of the women was seen in an inappropriate posture, sitting on the lap of a male rider while facing him.
A Thai woman witnessed the risky motorcycle ride while she was driving along Phahon Yothin Road in Mueang Nakhon Sawan district on Monday, September 8. She recorded the incident and later shared it on her TikTok account, @123aeo2, with the caption…
“Encountered this on my way to meet my niece. I don’t know what to focus on. I just wanted to shout at them that this is very dangerous!”
The video showed four people, two men and two women, travelling on the same motorcycle. One of the women sat on the rider’s lap, facing him. Aside from concerns over the dangers involved, netizens also criticised the woman’s explicit posture.
The video was later removed from the account, believed to be at the request of one of the people featured. However, it was quickly reshared by several media outlets and went viral.

Following the public attention, the motorcyclist in the video gave an interview to clarify the situation. He explained that the group had initially been travelling on two separate motorcycles. He was riding with two friends seated behind him, while the woman later seen on his lap was riding alone.
Unexpectedly, they encountered a group of rivals during the journey. To escape, they sped away, but the woman’s motorcycle suddenly broke down, forcing all four to ride on the same vehicle, as seen in the video.

The rider insisted that they were all friends, and they had no intention to behave explicitly. He explained that his female friend had to sit in that position because the motorcycle would be too difficult to control if everyone sat in a row.
He added that the woman was distressed after seeing herself in the viral clip. He apologised to the public and to other motorists for their dangerous behaviour, promising that they would not repeat such actions.
