Thai drivers race and crash into old woman, tearing her body apart

A sedan driver raced a pickup driver along a public road in the central province of Nakhon Sawan with devastating, fatal consequences after crashing into an old woman, tearing her body apart.
News Facebook page เจ๊มà¸à¸¢ v+ (Jamoi v+) shared pictures and videos of the incident yesterday, April 10. According to the page, the accident occurred on Takian Luean Road in Nakhon Sawan at 6.17am on Wednesday, April 9. The 82 year old victim had been standing by the roadside, waiting to offer food to a monk.
From the video shared by the page, two vehicles, an orange sedan and a silver pickup, were seen racing before colliding. The orange sedan swerved and struck the elderly woman, then crashed into an electricity pole. The pickup also collided with another pole.
The victim’s grandson, 18 year old Yotsawat Butprasert, told ThaiRath that he heard a loud crash and rushed to investigate. He was horrified to find the lifeless body of his grandmother in front of the sedan. Her body was torn in two.
Yotsawat witnessed a man and a woman exiting the sedan before immediately fleeing the scene in a pickup. They claimed they were heading to a hospital, but police later confirmed they were not found at any medical facility.

Mueang Nakhon Sawan Police Station reported that they arrested the pickup driver, 28 year old Supaluck Phunkategun, at the scene. He had no alcohol in his system but tested positive for drugs.
The Jamoi v+ Facebook page continued to expose previous criminal actions of the sedan driver, reportedly identified as Tonkla.
The page reported that Tonkla had recently crashed into a noodle cart on Khun San Road in the central province of Singburi on March 3.

Tonkla allegedly ran a police checkpoint and crashed into three vehicles, including a sidecar motorcycle that was modified into a mobile noodle shop. Two vendors were injured in the incident. Tonkla promised to compensate them, but they have not received any money.

The page also called on officers to summon Tonkla’s friends for questioning, alleging that they had helped him flee the scene. Furthermore, it is suspected that they assisted in removing illegal items from the vehicle before the police arrived.
