The spotlight was stolen during former Move Forward Party (MFP) leader Pita Limjaroenrat’s visit to Thai nationals in New York by his indispensable bodyguard, popular Thai actor Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai. Pita, the head consultant of the MFP, was in the city for the TIME 100 Next 2023 Gala, celebrating his inclusion in the list of 100 future influential change-makers.

The incident happened on Wednesday, October 25 local time, when Pita visited the Little Thailand Way district in Queens before proceeding on foot to the Thai Buddhist Temple, Wat Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram. A large crowd had gathered to welcome him.

Meanwhile, on social media, clips of the 43 year old politician’s Thai bodyguard caused a stir, distracting many. The person in question was Tul Pakorn, a famous Thai actor who moved to study in the US and completed his master’s degree at Columbia University, reported Sanook.

The Thai actor shared a photo with the former MFP leader and added some kind words.

“Yesterday, I was greatly honoured to talk with Pita, a person who has influenced the restoration of faith and hope in me and the new generation of Thais towards our country. Thanks for allowing me to represent Thai students from Columbia University and having a brief conversation with you. Despite our short time due to your busy schedule, you impressed us with your profound views, wisdom and simplicity. I hope we will have another opportunity.

“Our conversation was not just about politics, but about progress, hope and the future of Thailand. It was a great honour to discuss our shared vision for a brighter and more inclusive future.

“New York City, the backdrop to this illuminating exchange, reminds us that our dreams of improving Thailand are limitless! We, the voters, will definitely support the MFP, even if it is in the opposition. We are committed to a Thailand where every voice is heard and the potential of every citizen is recognised. Let’s go!”

Apart from this, Tul Pakorn mentioned that he never expected to be a bodyguard, but was very pleased to do so.
