A university student filed a complaint with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) after being allegedly drugged and nearly raped by a senior. The student revealed that nearly ten other juniors have also fallen victim to similar incidents.

Today, July 16, at the CIB’s complaint centre, Thammanan Tangtim accompanied a 21 year old student, referred to as B, from a prominent university in the Thonburi area. They met with Lieutenant Colonel Thipsuda Wongkrisngam to seek justice following an alleged indecent assault by her university senior.

B recounted that the senior, who had previously invited her to social gatherings on two occasions with several others, invited her out again on June 8. This time, however, it was just the two of them. They initially planned to meet at a bar but finding it full they decided to continue their evening at the senior’s place. Trusting him, she agreed.

While they were drinking together, B noticed that the senior was trying to get her drunk. He tried to hug her and asked to touch her chest. She quickly refused and escaped to the bathroom, before pleading to be let go.

Eventually, he took her back to her dormitory. Following the incident, she promptly reported it to the Rat Burana Police Station.

The male senior was summoned to acknowledge the allegations but denied them, threatening to file a defamation lawsuit against B. This threat followed B’s Instagram story post seeking other victims. A university lecturer then contacted her, urging her to settle the matter. At that time, she agreed, unaware of her legal rights.

Warnings ignored

B stated that the lecturer who intervened had a close relationship with the senior, often working together and supporting him. The lecturer had previously warned the senior against such behaviour, yet it persisted. Oddly, the lecturer also admonished B,

“You (B) should not have gone in the first place. As a woman, you shouldn’t drink alone with a man.”

Additionally, B revealed that the senior had previously raped approximately three victims and molested nine, including herself. Of these, three have already filed complaints, while the rest did not come forward due to shame.

B also learned that the senior had inappropriately touched students at another college where he was an intern. She lodged a complaint with her faculty on July 13, and the matter is currently under investigation.

The investigating officers have taken preliminary statements from the victims, which will be forwarded for further action, reported KhaoSod.

The case continues.
