Police deputy inspector found dead with gunshot wound in Krabi
In a tragic turn of events, a 55 year old police deputy inspector was found dead with a gunshot wound inside his car outside a police flat in Krabi province. The case, initially suspected to be driven by personal stress, has shocked the local community.
At 4.30pm, a distressing scene unfolded at a police residential complex in Khao Phanom, Krabi. A Toyota Vios was found in the garage with the lifeless body of Deputy Inspector Kasetsuk in the driver’s seat. He was wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt and jeans, with a gunshot wound to his chest and a 9mm pistol by his feet.
The Thai authorities, led by Police Chief Jenphop Butragin, were quick to respond, collecting evidence and initiating an investigation.
The deceased’s 28 year old daughter, Miss A (pseudonym), recounted her father’s final hours. After spending a night away from home, she assumed possibly at a guard post in Na Khao, he arrived in the morning, embraced his two granddaughters, and left the room about ten minutes later without exchanging words with his daughter.
Miss A further detailed that upon her return to the flat around 4pm, she found her father’s car and approached it only to find the horrifying scene. After discovering her father slumped forward and in an unresponsive state, she immediately contacted emergency services, who in turn informed the police.
The ex-wife of the deceased, who had been separated from him for almost a year following their divorce last October, was also interviewed.
Stress induced
She indicated that financial stress and the responsibilities of raising their university-bound son, coupled with the deceased’s depression, could have contributed to his state of mind.
Before the incident, he had visited her to borrow a motorcycle to attend to his duties, but they had not engaged in conversation.
The Thai authorities are currently leaning towards the theory that the personal officer took his own life due to personal issues. They noted that he had been seen sitting in his car with the door open earlier in the day.
The body has since been sent for autopsy at Maharaj Hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat to establish the official cause of death, while the investigation continues to piece together the events leading up to this tragic event, reported Khaosod.
