Key efforts include the repair and organisation of damaged streetlights, communication cables, and CCTV wires. The team is also busy collecting stones and debris washed ashore by the tide, a task expected to take two to three working days. Moreover, ornamental plants are being strategically placed to enhance the area’s aesthetic charm, adding a touch of greenery to the urban landscape. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has mandated a comprehensive overhaul of the Bali Hai Pier and Koh Larn.
The ambitious project aims to revitalise the pier’s landscape, streamline electrical and communication cables, and boost overall tidiness. This initiative underscores the Thai premier’s commitment to elevating visitor experiences and enhancing local amenities.
Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai, alongside Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat and city officials, conducted a site survey yesterday, June 25 at Bali Hai Pier. This crucial step aligns with the prime minister’s directives following his recent visit to Pattaya and Koh Larn Island. PM Srettha stressed the urgent need for a pristine and well-organised pier area to effectively cater to tourists.
Specific directives include clearing debris, organising infrastructure, and ensuring cleanliness to improve the pier’s appeal and functionality. City workers will identify and remove obsolete cables while arranging those in use into designated ducts, aiming to enhance both the aesthetic charm and operational efficiency of the pier, reported Pattaya Mail.
Starting today, Pattaya City’s Cleanliness and Waste Management Department will embark on rigorous efforts to reorganise the Bali Hai Pier area, said the 62 year old prime minister.
“This initiative not only aims to implement immediate improvements but also seeks to establish a model of sustainable urban management. Pattaya City will report progress directly to the Office of the Prime Minister to demonstrate transparency and accountability in achieving these transformative goals.”
