Pattaya couple left unconscious by ‘space cookies’ at condo
Pattaya’s peaceful night was shattered when an early-morning rescue mission unfolded in a local condo. A frantic mother called the Rescue Centre in the early hours of yesterday, November 25, fearing her daughter had been drugged and was lying unconscious in a condominium on Soi Wat Boon Kanjanaram, South Pattaya.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Upon reaching Building A, they faced a locked door, which was quickly opened with help from condominium staff.
Inside, responders found a puzzling sight: Lattrell, a 28 year old Filipino man, lay unconscious on the living room floor, dressed only in shorts. In the bedroom, Chanisara, also 28, was also found unresponsive. Rescue personnel provided immediate first aid and transported both to a nearby hospital for urgent care.
At first glance, the room showed no signs of a struggle or forced entry. However, the culprit seemed to be hiding in plain sight: a box of cannabis-infused cookies, shaped like astronauts and promising a “floating” experience, lay on the table. With one cookie missing and empty packaging discarded in the bin, the scene painted a vivid picture of accidental overindulgence.
Chanisara’s mother, who had raised the alarm, revealed that her daughter had called in distress, claiming she had been drugged. Unaware of the edible cannabis, the mother expressed shock at the events. Initial investigations suggest the pair consumed the cannabis cookies and were knocked out by the intense effects.
Officials cautioned against the casual use of cannabis products, especially for the uninitiated.
“Cannabis edibles can be deceptively potent and have serious effects if not consumed responsibly.”
The incident serves as a stark reminder for Pattaya’s public to approach cannabis products with extreme caution. Further investigation will proceed once the pair recover, reported Pattaya Mail.
In related news, one of the cannabis shop owners in Phuket, who fell victim to two foreign thieves, tracked down the suspects and physically assaulted them at their accommodation.
