Phra Khru Phanom Prechakon, also known as Phra Khru Kai, shared his good fortune on Facebook, inviting people to sign up for a special amulet distribution.
After a ceremony at Wat Phra That Phanom, Phra Khru Kai announced his lottery win, revealing he had won first prize with ticket number 061905. The windfall, amounting to 18 million baht, was entirely donated to the underprivileged and temples within That Phanom district within just one week.
“Sign up to receive the ‘Chao Sua Nuea Duang’ amulet (final round). Relatives who wish to receive the amulet set distributed on August 9, 2024, please sign up.”
The post detailed three significant events: a solo consecration on August 4, a ceremony at Wat Phra That Ing Hang in Laos today at 2pm, and a concluding consecration at Wat Phra That Phanom, That Phanom, That Phanom district, Nakhon Phanom province, on Thursday, August 8 at 1pm.
“Please sign up for relatives who wish to receive the distribution but are not friends on Facebook and cannot sign up themselves.”
The announcement, accompanied by promotional images of the amulet, garnered significant attention. Many followers, even those not directly connected to Phra Khru Kai, began following his Facebook page and signing up for the distribution.
Worship ceremony
Phra Khru Kai explained that he had invited Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto to preside over the consecration of the amulets, intended to be shared between Thailand and Laos. Due to a prior engagement on August 8, Luang Pu Sila suggested holding the consecration at the temple instead.
Phra Khru Kai, along with his team, yesterday, August 5, conducted a worship ceremony at Wat Phra That Muen Hin, with General Wimon Khamaim, a distinguished army officer, presiding over the lay ceremony. Luang Pu Sila blessed the amulets, which are expected to be highly sought after once reservations open on the dedicated Facebook page.
“This batch of amulets aims to fund rice purchases for monks and student monks at Wat Phra That Phanom’s Buddhist school. After my post, there was an overwhelming response from devotees. Those unable to attend the consecration on August 8 due to its non-holiday timing can collect the amulets from my residence near the Vessuwan statue on August 9.”
The amulets, known as Chao Sua Nuea Duang, are highly anticipated by the public. They come in a small-sized print with a gold frame, suitable for wearing around the neck, reported KhaoSod.
