Thai pedophile arrested for child abduction, sexual assault
Police arrested a 40 year old songthaew driver for child abduction, after he allegedly kidnapped an 11 year old girl from her home, stripping her naked and tying her up with the intent of committing sexual assault. The incident was reported by the girl’s parents.
The case came to light when the parents of the young girl reported to the media that their daughter had been subjected to a harrowing ordeal by a pedophile neighbour.
According to the parents, the deviant neighbour attempted to assault their daughter after stripping her naked and tying her hands and feet.
The girl was saved by her younger brother who discovered the scene and intervened. The incident occurred on May 13 at a rental property in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri.
Police officers from Nong Prue Police Station, led by Police Colonel Tawee Kudthalaeng and Police Lieutenant Colonel Somchok Fukphairoj, yesterday executed an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court.
The charges included abducting a child under 15 years old from their parents for lewd acts and committing indecent acts against a child under 13 years old through threats or violence.
The suspect, identified as a 40 year old songthaew driver, Chaowit was apprehended in front of the room where the incident took place.
He complied with the arrest without resistance but maintained his innocence during initial questioning at the Nong Prue Police Station.
When approached by reporters, Chaowit appeared stressed and refused to comment.
Pol. Col. Tawee instructed investigators and police officers to thoroughly examine the facts to ensure justice for both parties involved, reported Khaosod.
The police continue to seek further evidence and statements to clarify the case. The arrest has drawn significant attention, prompting discussions on community safety and child protection measures to prevent any child abduction cases in the future.
The authorities have pledged to pursue the investigation with diligence to ascertain the truth and administer justice accordingly.
