A 28 year old Malaysian woman caused quite a stir when she anonymously announced her intentions to find a second wife for her husband. She cited her husband’s high sexual needs due to work stress as the reason for this unconventional arrangement.

The woman’s engineer husband, who earns a salary of 18,000 Malaysian Ringgit (136,000 baht), is struggling with high sexual demands due to work-related stress. In response to this, she expressed her willingness to offer a 3,000 Ringgit monthly salary (about 22,700 baht) to any interested woman who can meet her husband’s needs.

Describing her husband’s personality, she stated that he’s rather thin, average-looking, doesn’t smoke, and is usually quiet. Furthermore, she emphasised her expectations for the other wife, making clear that she doesn’t want someone who is after financial gain, asserting her distaste for gold diggers, reported Sanook.

Surprisingly, her post received a lot of attention from a large number of women who responded to the main wife’s post, sharing their details and asking for more information. It was a clear indication that they were willing to be considered for this unconventional arrangement. Meanwhile, other netizens added humour to the conversation, suggesting that the proposed salary might not be sufficient for such a demanding job.

Nonetheless, a considerable number of netizens raised questions about this matter, addressing issues of boundaries and feasibility in the face of such shockingly liberal modern relationships. So, is it legal for a woman to find a second wife for her husband under Malaysian law?

“Is this a legally appropriate attempt to address an unusual marital challenge or just a bid for attention?”

A similar story broke in Thailand last year.

A Thai woman advertised on social media for three mistresses in the central province of Samut Prakarn. A crank? A scam? No! It was genuine. But it gets even better for the wannabee mistresses, they’ll also get a salary of 15,000 baht each month.

The 44 year old married woman, called Pattheema, has a successful business with her husband selling and hiring out crane trucks in Samut Prakarn. But the mother of one believes she is a bad wife, always tired, and cannot please her husband. So, she wants to make it up to him. Read more about the story HERE.
