Gas stove explosion injures two women in Don Mueang home
A gas stove explosion in a Don Mueang residence sent two women to the hospital with burn injuries. This morning, police and fire officials rushed to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
Police Colonel Sukrit Mangkalasawat, head of Don Mueang Police Station, ordered a patrol unit to inspect the fire accident reported at a house located in Soi Thoet Ratchan 9, Thoet Ratchan Road, Sikan subdistrict, Don Mueang district. The explosion occurred at approximately 6.55am, prompting immediate response from the local fire department.
Upon arrival, they discovered two injured individuals, Mintra and Laongthip, whose last names are withheld for privacy. Both women suffered burns on their hands, feet, and parts of their faces.
According to initial findings, the women attempted to light a gas stove when the explosion happened. The unexpected blast startled them and resulted in their injuries, reported KhaoSod.
The details surrounding the cause of the explosion remain under investigation, as authorities work to determine what might have led to the mishap.
In related news, a dramatic explosion rocked a busy intersection when a pickup truck loaded with paint cans burst into flames after the driver inadvertently discarded a cigarette butt. This incident, which caused damage exceeding 1 million baht, occurred in Ban Khai, Rayong province.
On December 17, at 5.30pm, police officer Chanatchai Wongsrivichit received reports of a pickup truck explosion at the Ban Khai intersection on Rayong-Ban Bueng Road. Upon arrival, the fire department and rescue teams found a grey Toyota pickup truck with registration number กต-7634 from Phetchaburi engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, no one was trapped inside the vehicle, and the fire was swiftly tackled, taking firefighters approximately 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The investigation revealed that hundreds of paint cans loaded in the truck had exploded, leaving them torn apart. The driver managed to escape unharmed by jumping out of the vehicle.
