Grim discovery: Elderly couple finds neighbour dead in Sisaket
An elderly couple stumbled upon the dead body of their neighbour outside their home in the serene Sisaket province.
The unsettling scene unfolded in Moo 8, Nong Chiang Thun subdistrict, Prang Ku district, where a 77 year old man and his 75 year old wife discovered their 45 year old neighbour, Vachakorn, near a phone top-up machine, bearing a gruesome 5-inch gash to his neck.
Officers from Prang Ku Police Station rushed to the scene yesterday, January 30, uncovering a blood-stained axe, which was promptly seized as evidence.
As of now, the motive for this ghastly act remains shrouded in mystery. Intriguingly, just two days before his tragic demise, Vachakorn had posted a sign on an old refrigerator, announcing the sale of his residence and land for 2.5 million baht.
The philosophical musings in the ad reflected on the nature of praise and criticism in life, adding a curious twist to the unfolding mystery.
Locals were quick to point out that Vachakorn, who had been living in solitude since his mother relocated following domestic disagreements, had not been involved in any known disputes.
Suphaptra, a neighbour, attested to Vachakorn personally crafting the advertisement a few days prior. The property in question was originally owned by his grandmother, who had since moved to Wang Nam Khiao district in Nakhon Ratchasima province.
Suphaptra stood bewildered, unaware of any enmity directed towards Vachakorn, KhaoSod reported.
Now embroiled in a complex investigation, the police are leaving no stone unturned. They’re engaging with local residents and scouring nearby roads for CCTV footage to piece together Vachakorn’s final moments.
Despite a lack of definitive evidence so far, Thai police officers remain steadfast, working tirelessly to solve this chilling case and bring those responsible to justice. Keep your eyes peeled for updates as this unnerving mystery slowly unravels.
