Community aids suicidal woman at Bang Pakong pier

Police and rescue services in Chachoengsao intervened to aid a 54 year old woman contemplating ending her life at the Bang Pakong pier behind the Chachoengsao Vocational College.
The woman, Add, seen crying and wearing a motorcycle taxi vest, was safely brought to safety by rescue personnel yesterday, March 16.
Add shared her story, revealing her deep sorrow over her inability to buy food for her husband, who suffers from a stroke. Her husband, driven by hunger, resorted to taking food intended for stray dogs in the area, a situation that left Add heartbroken and feeling inadequate despite her best efforts to care for him.
She further explained her struggles, stating that she works as a motorcycle taxi driver to support her husband and manage household expenses. However, her earnings fall short, leaving her feeling overwhelmed by her circumstances.

This emotional turmoil led her to the Bang Pakong pier, contemplating an end to her challenges. Fortunately, a bystander noticed her distress and alerted the police and rescue services.
The police and rescue team managed to calm her down. Following this, the Chachoengsao rescue services provided her with essential supplies, including rice, dried food, and drinking water, to support her temporarily. They also committed to checking in with her monthly to offer food assistance if needed, reported KhaoSod.
In a show of community support, locals who were present at the scene contributed 1,000 baht (US$30) to aid Add in her daily needs. This collective effort reflects a community’s compassion and willingness to support those facing difficult times.
