Biker clears road for ambulance during Thailand earthquake (video)

In the middle of earthquake chaos and gridlocked traffic, a lone cyclist became an unexpected hero – risking his life to guide a private ambulance through congested streets and potentially saving the life of a critically ill patient.
The remarkable act of kindness was shared on Facebook by 23 year old ambulance driver Phasawit Karated, who posted a heartfelt message alongside a photo, thanking the mystery man who selflessly cleared a path for his vehicle. The incident happened on March 28, the same day tremors from the Myanmar earthquake caused panic across Thailand.
Phasawit, who works with Thitikarn Ambulance Service, was assigned to transport a critically ill patient on a ventilator from Krungthai Pakkret Hospital to Krungthai Pathumthani Hospital.
“There was heavy traffic as soon as I left the hospital. A man on a bicycle knocked on my window and told me to follow him, he would clear the way.”

Without hesitation, the cyclist pedalled into the middle of the road, waving down drivers and creating a path through the gridlock, said Phasawit.
“He rode in front of me for more than 5 kilometres, through dangerous traffic, helping us get to the hospital 10 to 15 minutes faster. Without him, we could have been delayed by over an hour, and the patient might not have made it.”
The patient was in a “red case” condition, requiring constant ventilator support and two nurses in the vehicle. Every minute counted.
“He rode without fear, weaving between cars, risking his life just to help someone he didn’t know. That level of kindness is rare.”
Grateful and moved, Phasawit shared the story online in the hope of finding and thanking the cyclist personally.
“If you see an ambulance, please move aside. You might be saving a life.”
The post quickly gained attention, with many praising the cyclist’s bravery and compassion, reported Channel 3 Plus.
The identity of the bicycle hero remains unknown – but to those in the ambulance that day, he’s nothing short of a guardian angel on two wheels.
