3 injured after girls’ dispute escalates into shooting in Chon Buri
A dispute between two teenage girls led to a shooting on the road near Siam Country Club in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri yesterday, February 2, resulting in three injuries. One of the victims is in a serious condition.
Officers from Nong Prue Police Station were called to the scene at around 10pm, accompanied by rescuers from the Sawang Borriboon Dhammasatan Foundation. Upon arrival, they found three injured victims, identified as 36 year old Panicha, 29 year old Pramote, and 35 year old Thunyawan.
Thunyawan was shot in the back of her neck and sustained the most serious injury. Panicha was shot in her left arm, while Pramote suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg.
Panicha informed the police that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two girls, 13 year old Na and 14 year old Fae. She and the other two injured victims are members of Na’s family.
Panicha explained that the two girls previously engaged in a heated argument, which later escalated into a physical altercation.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, the two families arranged a meeting. However, Fae’s family was dissatisfied with the outcome, leading to a second meeting on the day of the incident.
During this second meeting, tensions flared once again, and some members of Fae’s family suddenly opened fire on Na’s family. Fae’s family fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Police investigating the scene discovered more than ten bullet casings and suspect that the attackers possessed more than three firearms. Officers identified some of the suspects from Fae’s family and plan to summon them for questioning soon.
Police added that they briefly spoke with some of the suspects, who claimed they fired the gunshots in self-defence, alleging that Na’s family pulled out a weapon and threatened them first.
In a related story reported last week, four members of an online gaming gang called “Oreo” turned themselves in at Khlong Luang Police Station in Pathum Thani province, near Bangkok, following brutal assaults on multiple victims in the area.
The gang targeted individuals with whom they had conflicts in the online game FiveMod, also known as FiveM. Each suspect was found to have a lengthy criminal history, and several members of the gang remain at large.
