Irishman suffers life-threatening injuries in motorcycle accident in Thailand
A young Irishman is the latest in a long line of victims injured in a motorcycle accident in Thailand without having any cover or insurance. How many more need to suffer fatalities or life-threatening injuries before they learn to drive properly or get insured?
Michael John Miller, from Knock in Mayo, is the latest man to suffer life-threatening injuries following a horror crash while travelling in Thailand, reported the GalwayBeo.
Details of the motorcycle accident reported are vague but it appears Miller was riding from Chiang Mai to Pai when he crashed and was rushed to hospital with serious spinal injuries.

Despite retaining full mobility, Michael’s vertebrae injuries have placed him in a dangerous situation. As a result, his family is working diligently to transport him back to Ireland for ongoing treatment.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help cover transportation costs and medical expenses, with a goal of 991,000 baht (US$29,000). Donations have already exceeded 400,000 baht, demonstrating the outpouring of support for Michael and his family during this difficult time.
The GoFundMe page reads…
“This evening Michael was in a life-threatening motorcycle accident on his way from Chiang Mai to Pai. X-rays and a CT scan were taken which showed a broken C2 and C6 in his upper vertebrae.
“He has a broken ankle and swelling of his left side. Michael needs to go to a spinal specialist via ambulance in Chiang Mai. Any help with medical bills and transportation costs would be greatly appreciated!”
The GoFundMe page has seen huge support from friends, family and the local community in Mayo.
