Upon receiving the report, the Mueang Ang Thong police officers, rescue workers and Poh Teck Tung Foundation staff, arrived at the scene. They found the girl, dressed in blue shorts and a pink shirt, crying and threatening to jump into the river.

Despite police negotiations lasting approximately 10 minutes, the girl eventually jumped, causing alarm among the onlooking residents.

A rider and volunteer from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation immediately jumped into the water to rescue her and brought her to the hospital for urgent care.

The 46 year old district volunteer recounted witnessing the girl crying on the bridge while passing by on his motorcycle and alerted the Mueang Ang Thong police and rescue team to negotiate and assist but the girl jumped before they could help.

Pao, the 24 year old rider, described the critical moment when he prepared to enter the water. He said upon seeing the girl jump, he immediately followed her into the river alongside a Poh Teck Tung Foundation volunteer.
