Security guard shot dead at Bangkok waste centre, suspect sought

Investigation intensifies as police search for suspect in cold-blooded murder

A security guard was shot dead at the maintenance office of a waste disposal centre in Pravet district, Bangkok, in the early hours of today, May 9. His wife revealed a mysterious warning he had given before the incident, providing clues about potential suspects.

At 1am, Police Captain Worawit Meekham, an investigator from Pravet Police Station, received a report about a man shot dead near the entrance of On Nut 86. The forensic team, a pathologist from the Police Hospital, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers arrived at the scene.

The deceased, identified as 44 year old Thirasak (surname withheld), was found wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt and red shorts. He had been shot in the left chest, with the bullet exiting through his back.

The investigation revealed two 9mm bullet casings on the ground nearby. A four-door pickup truck was parked at the maintenance office, with a bullet hole in the right rear window. Officials documented the scene as evidence.

Ruchita (surname withheld), the 43 year old wife of the deceased, explained that her husband worked as a security guard at a local factory. She described him as a quiet man who rarely shared his problems.

The previous evening, he had warned her not to leave the house if anything happened, suggesting possible issues with locals. However, she was uncertain about the suspect’s identity and urged the police to investigate further.

Preliminary police inquiries uncovered that the deceased argued with a suspect earlier in the evening, though the person has yet to be identified, reported KhaoSod.

Records show the deceased had past involvement in drug-related and attempted murder cases in the Pravet area, before serving time in prison. The investigation team has been checking nearby CCTV footage to find the perpetrator and proceed with legal action.
