Man arrested in Bangkok for child pornography ring

The Combating Human Trafficking Division arrested a 22 year old man accused of producing and distributing child pornography and enticing minors into inappropriate behaviour. The arrest of the suspect, Nakharin, took place yesterday, April 23, in the Pravet district of Bangkok.

Police were alerted by an account named S0PIDA_Nam with over 44,000 followers, which was posting advertisements for more than 100 pornographic clips featuring male content. Interested viewers were encouraged to pay a membership fee of 299 baht to access these clips in a private group.

Undercover operatives infiltrated the group and discovered that some clips featured a 15 year old boy being coerced into performing sexual acts with a man dressed as a woman, who was later identified as Nakharin.

Investigations revealed Nakharin lured young boys via an app to create these videos, particularly focusing on content involving minors. These videos were then used to attract people with similar interests to join the exclusive, paid group.

Nakharin, who worked at a shopping mall in the Phra Khanong area, was found to actively engage in this activity during weekends and after work hours.

Nakharin confessed to the charges, admitting he had been involved in this illegal activity for over a year to earn extra income. He reportedly generated over 100,000 baht (US$2,980) from the distribution of these illicit videos.

Following his confession, he was handed over to investigators at the Combating Human Trafficking Division for further legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.
