Heavy rain forecast for 28 Thai provinces, Bangkok affected
Flash flood alerts issued as storm conditions threaten vulnerable areas

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast heavy rain for 28 provinces across Thailand, particularly affecting Bangkok, which may experience rain in 60% of its area. Residents are advised to exercise caution yesterday, June 1.
Over the next 24 hours, northern and northeastern Thailand will see significant rainfall in some areas, while southern regions will experience thunderstorms. This is due to a moderate southwest monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, coupled with a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam.
In the Andaman Sea, moderate waves are expected, with heights reaching between 1 and 2 metres, and higher than 2 metres in stormy areas. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are urged to navigate cautiously and avoid regions with thunderstorms.
Weather forecasts indicate that northern Thailand will encounter thunderstorms across 60% of the area, with heavy rain expected in Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun. Temperatures will range from 24°C to 35°C, with southwest winds at 5 to 15 kilometres per hour.
In northeastern Thailand, thunderstorms are forecast for 40% of the region, especially in Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, and Nakhon Phanom. The temperature will vary between 23°C and 34°C, accompanied by southwest winds moving at 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.
Central Thailand will see thunderstorms across 40% of its area, predominantly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi. Temperatures will be between 24°C and 36°C, with southwest winds at 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.
