Six year old tragically killed by car in Nonthaburi accident
A tragic accident occurred in Nonthaburi province when a six year old girl was fatally struck by a car while running across the road without looking. Her grieving mother was seen embracing her daughter’s lifeless body at the scene, while the driver appeared to be in shock.
Police officers from Chaiyaphruek Police Station, along with Por Tek Tung Foundation volunteers, responded to the incident yesterday, January 14, after being notified about a car accident resulting in a child’s death. The accident took place at the entrance of Tiamkoon Alley on the road parallel to Khlong Khun Maha Thai in Khlong Khoi subdistrict, Pak Kret district.
The deceased, a six year old first-grade student referred to as A, was found lying in her school sports uniform.
Approximately 30 metres away, a black sedan was parked with a woman driver and her son inside, both visibly shocked by the event. Surveillance footage from a nearby shop captured the incident, showing four children playing near a roadside pavilion.
The girl, A, ran across the road to the opposite side just as the sedan approached, leading to the collision, reported KhaoSod.
Police documented the scene and interviewed the driver for further information. The body has been entrusted to Por Tek Tung Foundation officials for transport to the Institute of Forensic Science for an autopsy.
In related news, a collision occurred between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Soi Nong Ket Yai, Bang Lamung district, at 5.06am on January 11, prompting a response from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre in Pattaya.
Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered an orange pickup truck with severe damage at the front. The driver, 34 year old Chaiyarat Panpitanusorn, was present at the scene to provide a statement.
Nearby, a black motorcycle was found severely damaged in the middle of the road. Its rider, 26 year old Niwet Inpitak, sustained critical injuries.
