Racing sedans crash in Chon Buri, 12 vehicles damaged (video)

An accident involving a group of modified sedans racing on the Chon Buri motorway resulted in damage to 12 vehicles.
Emergency services suspect intoxication as a factor. Police are currently questioning those involved after the incident, which occurred yesterday, February 16 at 3.30am.
The event was widely shared on social media, showing the cars speeding, weaving, and overtaking recklessly before colliding with one another, leading to the damage of numerous vehicles. Following the crash, police worked to clear the area and summoned those involved for further legal proceedings.
At 2pm the same day, Ronachai Jaipetch, a 36 year old officer from Sawang Prateep Sriracha Rescue Unit, reported receiving an alert from motorway rescue services. The incident occurred on motorway route 7, section 2, at kilometre 91 + 800 in Bang Phra subdistrict, Si Racha district, Chon Buri. An ambulance was dispatched to evaluate the scene.
Upon arrival, the rescue team found a multi-vehicle accident involving 12 sedans. Initial reports indicated minor injuries, with one male trapped and requiring extrication before being transported to the hospital. Others involved awaited insurance evaluations before heading to medical facilities.
It was reported that the group of modified cars was travelling from Pattaya to Bangkok. There is uncertainty regarding whether the drivers were under the influence of alcohol, reported KhaoSod.
Highway Police Station 2 in Chon Buri (Khao Kheow Unit) is actively documenting and investigating the incident, capturing images and testimonies from those present at the scene.
