A fatal accident unfolded on Motorway 7 inbound to Chon Buri in the early hours of today, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist, suspected by Banglamung police to be a drug dealer. The incident occurred near the 4-kilometre marker in the Nong Pla Lai sub-district of Banglamung district, Chon Buri province.

The first team on the scene, led by Police Colonel Natthan Chantawong from Banglamung Police Station, made the grim discovery of a 39 year old man, later identified as Satit Liaoyong. Satit was found sprawled by the roadside, having sustained severe injuries including fractures to the back of his head and a gaping wound above his left eyebrow.

Upon further examination of the deceased, the authorities uncovered blue plastic bags containing methamphetamine on his person, according to Police Colonel Natthan’s statement to the local press. Approximately 20 metres away, an overturned grey-black Honda PCX motorcycle with a red license plate was discovered. Additional narcotics were found on the bike, including a bag of methamphetamine, five ecstasy tablets, and crystal meth, reported The Pattaya News.

The narcotics were promptly confiscated as evidence. Preliminary assessment of the accident scene led the authorities to suggest that Satit may have lost control of his motorcycle due to excessive speed, resulting in the fatal crash.

The investigation is still in progress, with Banglamung police suspecting the deceased could have been involved in drug dealing.
