Minivan and sedan collision in Pathum Thani injures 14

A collision between a Toyota minivan and a sedan on Phahon Yothin-Wat Thua Thong Road in Sam Khok district, Pathum Thani province, resulted in 14 people being injured. Emergency services had to extract victims from the wreckage and transport them to nearby hospitals.
The incident occurred at 4.30pm yesterday, February 2, when Police Lieutenant Waraphak Suphasawat from Sam Khok Police Station received a report of the accident involving multiple injuries. The site is a two-lane road, located at Moo 5, Ban Pathum, where the minivan and sedan collided head-on.
Upon arrival, emergency services, including rescue workers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation and Sam Khok Hospital’s emergency team, found several injured people both on the road and trapped inside the vehicles. The Toyota minivan, severely damaged at the front, had the driver and passengers trapped inside.
Rescue workers used hydraulic tools to free them and transported the injured to Sam Khok Hospital, Krung Siam St. Carlos Hospital, and other nearby facilities. The minivan driver was identified as 63 year old Samruam.
The sedan, also a Toyota, was discovered crashed into a roadside power pole with significant front-end damage. The driver was trapped inside, and rescue workers again used hydraulic tools to extricate the injured people, reported KhaoSod.
Samruam, the minivan driver, stated that he was transporting passengers from Wat Phra Dhammakaya to release fish at Wat Thua Thong when the sedan, speeding and crossing into his lane, collided with his vehicle. The accident resulted in a total of 14 people injured, all of whom were promptly taken to the hospital.
In similar news, a collision involving a cement-laden trailer, an unmarked police car, and a steel-carrying trailer resulted in three injuries and two fatalities.
The police plan to interview the drivers and injured parties to determine the cause.
