A lorry carrying 15 Burmese workers collided with a container truck in Pathum Thani province, injuring all the passengers. The incident occurred around 6am today. The Isuzu pickup truck, driven by an unidentified man, lost control and crashed into the container truck, leading to multiple casualties.

According to the initial investigation by Warut Poomsak, a duty officer at the Khlong Luang Police Station, the accident took place on Phahonyothin Road, at the 35+400 kilometre marker, in Khlong Luang district. Assisting him in the investigation was Deputy Superintendent Nathawat Thaksin from the same police station, local traffic police, and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.

At the accident scene, several injured people were found in the overturned Isuzu pickup with the Surat Thani license plate number ผท391. First responders quickly transported the injured men and women, all of Burmese nationality, to the hospital.

Approximately 20 metres away from the pickup, a Volvo container truck with Bangkok license plate number 64-2658 and trailer number 71-4119 from Nakhon Pathom was parked. The driver, 32 year old Phurich (surname withheld), was waiting for the police at the scene.

Phurich stated that he was transporting goods from Khlong Toei port to Wang Noi in Ayutthaya province. He reported feeling a collision from the rear and when he looked in his rear-view mirror, he saw the pickup overturn with several injured passengers.

He immediately parked his truck and informed the police. The supervisor of the workers informed that the pickup was transporting 20 Burmese workers from a sorting centre in Pathum Thani city to their accommodation.

After examining the accident scene, Officer Warut recorded evidence and arranged for a crane to remove the vehicles from the scene, restoring normal traffic flow.
