Trailer and pickup clash sparks heated dispute in Nonthaburi

A heated argument erupted following a collision between a trailer and a pickup truck in Nonthaburi, resulting in both parties filing complaints with the police. The incident occurred yesterday, April 1, and has led to accusations and physical altercations between the involved parties.
Today, it was reported that Chaowarat, a 58 year old bamboo shop owner, filed a complaint with Police Sub-Lieutenant Songkiat Chanyasri at Bang Bua Thong Police Station in Nonthaburi province.
Chaowarat alleged that Natee, a 36 year old truck driver, was ordered by Kamthorn, a 34 year old owner of the Hino trailer truck, to intentionally collide with Chaowarat’s Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, causing damage to the right rear light, right side of the bed, right door, right bumper, and breaking the right side mirror.
The incident allegedly occurred as Chaowarat’s vehicle was parked in front of his shop, and he claimed he was also physically assaulted by the other party.
The confrontation took place around 1.50pm yesterday, April 1, in front of the bamboo shop on Soi Electricity, Bang Bua Thong district. A mobile phone recording of the incident was provided as evidence.
The footage captured the aftermath of the collision, with both parties engaging in a heated verbal exchange. Chaowarat, wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, and Kamthorn, wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt, were seen arguing before the situation escalated to spitting and nearly resulted in a physical fight.

Chaowarat stated that the incident began around 1pm while he was loading bamboo and grass onto his pickup truck. He had parked to purchase plasterboard for a customer when the trailer attempted to manoeuvre around his parked vehicle.
Chaowarat, realising the trailer could not pass, instructed his son to move their pickup. He approached the truck driver, asking for the trailer to back up as another vehicle was blocking the pickup from moving.
However, while his son searched for the keys, Kamthorn allegedly instructed Natee to drive through, resulting in the collision that caused damage to Chaowarat’s pickup.
Kamthorn, who also filed a police complaint, said his trailer was already entering the alley when asked to reverse. He explained that reversing would require encroaching on two additional lanes of a busy road, posing a collision risk.
Believing there was sufficient space, he instructed Natee to proceed, which led to the trailer’s rear wheel grazing the pickup, damaging it.
After the incident, Kamthorn called his insurance company to negotiate damages, but a verbal altercation ensued with Chaowarat, who accused Kamthorn of ordering the collision.
This led to shoving but did not escalate further. Kamthorn denied the accusation, stating he only advised Natee to try passing, thinking it was possible, reported KhaoSod.
Police have inspected both vehicles and taken statements from both parties. No charges have yet been filed, and the incident site, being private property, will be re-examined on April 2.
