The disappearance of Kawinna, or Fon, a 39 year old official from the Tambon Administration Organization (TAO) in Ban Na San, Surat Thani, ended in tragedy. Last seen on November 13, the mystery surrounding her disappearance unravelled when her 39 year old ex-husband, Prasitporn, confessed to her murder.

Prasitporn, who was the last person to see Kawinna alive, initially told the police he had dropped her off at Rajabhat University in Surat Thani for her document-checking job. He claimed another car had come to pick her up and since then, he had not been able to contact her. Despite their divorce over a year ago, the pair still lived in the same house.

Prasitporn, in an interview with the media, vehemently denied any involvement in Kawinna’s disappearance. His mother also came forward to vouch for his character, stating that her son was incapable of violence, even towards animals, reported Sanook.

The public was not convinced. Prasitporn’s interview was met with widespread criticism online, as users pointed out inconsistencies in his statements and his unusual demeanour. After a second round of questioning by police yesterday, Prasitporn finally confessed to the murder.

He admitted to killing Kawinna and disposing of her body in a drainage pipe along Khun Thale Soi 3, Mueang District, Surat Thani. He had covered the body with leaves and returned the next day to cover it with cement. Kawinna’s disappearance has shocked her community and the horrifying revelations have only added to their grief.

In related news, a Thai woman sought protection from the non-profit organisation Saimai Survive after her jealous ex-husband threatened to kill her and her family. The jealous ex claimed he knew the Royal Thai Police commissioner and was not afraid of legal action.

The victim, Ya, sought the attention of Saimai Survive founder Ekkaphop Lueangprasert so the organisation could help her solve the problem and guide her through the legal process against her ex-husband. To read more click HERE
