A series of violent confrontations involving teenagers wielding knives, sticks, and firearms has disrupted the peace in Samut Prakan province. Residents have been living in fear for three consecutive nights due to the sound of explosions and gunfire, urging Thai police to intervene.

Closed-circuit television footage captured approximately 10 teenagers riding four motorcycles, blocking the road in the Thaiban subdistrict of Mueang district. They clashed with weapons and hurled loud ping pong bombs, taunting each other in the process.

The aftermath of these confrontations has left shattered glass and debris scattered across the road, along with numerous remnants of ping pong bombs.

Yotkorn, a local, recounted that around midnight, he was awakened by the sounds of gunfire and explosions. Upon checking his surveillance cameras, he saw a group of four to five motorcycles, known to be teenagers from Soi Yusuk.

Another group of about 10 teenagers frequently engages in these altercations at the same time every night. Yotkorn appealed to the police for assistance, highlighting the community’s concern for the safety of its many children and the risk of them being caught in the crossfire.

Another resident, Phongphet, presented pieces of ping pong bombs found in front of his house to the media. He explained that for the past three nights, both groups have armed themselves with knives, sticks, guns, and ping pong bombs, reported KhaoSod.

This has caused significant distress among locals, who are unable to sleep and live in constant fear of explosions occurring near their homes. The abundance of parked cars in the area also raises concerns about potential damage to vehicles.

In similar news, a 16 year old was injured when a pickup truck pulled alongside his sedan and opened fire, with a bullet piercing his cheek.

Police were alerted to this incident on March 3, at 2.20am and rushed to the scene in Mueang district, Phatthalung province, along with the investigative team.
