Police arrest drug dealer resembling Didier Drogba in Tha Yang
Police arrested a drug dealer nicknamed Drog Big of Tha Yang, who bears a striking resemblance to the famous footballer Didier Drogba while delivering methamphetamine to customers.
Officers, including Police Lieutenant Colonel Arthapong Nokkhunthong, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation at Tha Yang Police Station, and Police Lieutenant Pisit Lueangpraphasiri, Deputy Inspector, yesterday, June 12, alongside a team of investigators from the Tha Yang Police Station and Division 1 of the Tourist Police Bureau, arrested 26 year old Suwason, from Kaeng Krachan District, Phetchaburi Province. The suspect was found with 367 methamphetamine tablets.
The nickname Drog Big comes from Suwason’s resemblance to Didier Drogba, a former famous footballer. Police had received intelligence about a planned drug deal at a house in Wang Khrai Subdistrict, Tha Yang District, Phetchaburi Province.
Officers set up a surveillance operation, eventually spotting Suwason riding a motorcycle to the location. Recognising him due to his previous drug-related activities and an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Phetchaburi Provincial Court, officers moved in and arrested him. The search revealed 367 methamphetamine tablets hidden in his trouser pocket.
In questioning, Suwason admitted to being aware that the police were tracking him. He had previously been arrested by the Phetchaburi City Police in 2022 for drug use but had fled during probation reporting, leading to an arrest warrant and forcing him to hide in the forests near Ban Thung Klet.
During his time in hiding, Suwason contacted an individual named O from Ban Nong Pla Duk, Song Phi Nong Subdistrict, Kaeng Krachan District, to buy methamphetamine for both personal use and resale. Before his arrest, Suwason had consumed three methamphetamine tablets and was on his way to deliver two bags, each containing 200 tablets, following a customer’s order. He was apprehended by the police while en route to complete the delivery, reported KhaoSod.
The police have charged Suwason and will proceed with further legal action.
