Pathum Thani police seize crystal meth worth over 104 million baht

Police in Pathum Thani seized a major haul of crystal methamphetamine, weighing 520 kilogrammes and valued at over 104 million baht.
The drugs were concealed in large freezers within a warehouse in Lam Luk Ka and were intended for distribution to the south.
The operation took place at 3pm yesterday, March 9, led by Police Major General Yuthana Jonkhun, Provincial Commander of Pathum Thani, along with a team of officers from the Pathum Thani Provincial Investigation Unit and the Lam Luk Ka Police Station.
The investigation began after Anuwat, a truck driver for Kriangsakchai Transport Limited Partnership, alerted Lam Luk Ka police to a suspicious consignment bound for the south, which he suspected contained illegal items.

Following this tip, officers from the Lam Luk Ka Investigation Unit, Region 1 Investigation Team, and forensic officers examined the goods on a six-wheeled truck with the registration number 70-5256 Chaiyaphum. They discovered two freezers containing sacks branded Doctor Oy with 10 bags each.
Inside each sack were 20 tea bags, with each bag holding one kilogramme of crystal methamphetamine, totalling 200 kilogrammes.
Anuwat shared that he was instructed to collect the items at 4am, which raised his suspicions. Upon arrival at the warehouse, he encountered two men who directed him to reverse the truck inside, contrary to the usual practice of driving it head-first.
After loading, Anuwat was handed 38,000 baht (US$1,125) in cash, which was unusual since payment is usually transferred to the company’s account.
The men wore rubber gloves and used mobile phones to push the freezers to avoid leaving fingerprints. Anuwat’s concerns about the legality of the goods led him to contact the police, reported KhaoSod.
Upon further investigation, police discovered two additional freezers at the warehouse, containing 320 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine. This brought the total seizure to 520 kilogrammes, with an estimated value exceeding 104 million baht (US$3 million).
