Reports were made to senior officials, including Police Major General Narongsak Promtha and Police Colonel Chusit Lorsaeng, who instructed immediate follow-up actions. Police Colonel Yutthapong Rodnuan and Police Colonel Wachirawit Wannathani devised a plan for an undercover operation.

The investigation team posed as clients, negotiating a price of 1,500 baht (US$45) for the services. The seller was later identified as a 17 year old girl, referred to as A (not her real name), who requested a 200 baht (US$6) deposit.

A meeting was arranged at a resort in Lam Plai Mat district. At the rendezvous point, a 40 year old woman named Namfon (surname withheld) arrived on a motorcycle with the young woman.

The police then revealed themselves and arrested the mother and daughter at the resort room. Preliminary questioning confirmed that both had been involved in posting the advertisements, reported KhaoSod.

The suspects were handed over to Police Captain Pongsakorn Onsaluay, the deputy inspector at Lam Plai Mat Police Station, to face legal proceedings. The initial charges against Namfon and her daughter include human trafficking and facilitating or leading a person under the age of 18 into prostitution, regardless of consent.
