Man found in longan orchard after fatally shooting ex-wife
Police successfully apprehended a 42 year old man who had been hiding in a longan orchard after fatally shooting his ex-wife in front of her home. The incident stemmed from unresolved resentment over their breakup.
Suksan, shot his 43 year old ex-wife, Ko, in the forehead, causing severe injuries while she was waiting for a ride to work outside her residence in Nam Dip subdistrict, Pa Sang district, Lamphun province. This harrowing event took place a few days ago, on the morning of September 9.
Ko was rushed to Lanna Hospital in Chiang Mai Province but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries soon after. The assailant managed to escape, prompting an intensive manhunt by the Pa Sang Police Station and Lamphun Provincial Investigation Unit.
The motive behind this tragic incident was Suksan’s anger over Ko’s refusal to reconcile after their marriage ended, despite having one child together. Suksan had persistently tried to win her back, even resorting to threats and intimidation.
Yesterday, on September 17, the police investigation team from Region 5, along with officers from Lamphun Provincial Investigation Unit and detectives from Pa Sang Police Station, closed in on a longan orchard in Ban San Pa Huk, Moo 11, Nong Jedi subdistrict, Pa Sang district, Lamphun province.
They had received intelligence that Suksan was hiding there. As the officers approached on foot, Suksan, who was resting in a hammock under a tree, opened fire on them, forcing the police to take cover.
The situation escalated quickly as the officers decided to return fire. Suksan was hit and immediately fell, resulting in his death, reported KhaoSod.
Following the shootout, the police coordinated with Pa Sang Police Station’s investigative officers, a forensic doctor, forensic police, and other relevant agencies to conduct an autopsy.
After completing the procedures, the body was sent to the hospital for further examination, and the investigation will continue according to legal protocols.
